was digital arts workshops in the Dawson community. The work was mainly produced by Year 8 Arts and Design students at Robert Service School and their teacher Joann. Everybody was great to work with. I had planned to do much more with the local community but this unfortunately did not happen as I had expected. However what has been produced is really interesting. All work was developed in Photoshop on the theme of if you had to tell somebody something about living in Dawson what would it be? The students made symbols for places they would go and for things they would do and I have brought it together in the first piece. We then took different photographs around school (we couldn't really photograph outside as it was -37 and dark when I was working with them) to try and highlight some of these ideas and the students worked on bringing different elements together. I have brought pictures into Flash to animate them as the students didn't get chance to do that themselves. The final piece is one that John Overell started and I wanted to see if it would work in Flash and it does. Click on the pictures below to see each short animation. |
